An Introduction to Making Music in VCV Rack 2

This hands-on workshop is a practical introduction to modular sound synthesis and performance using VCV Rack 2, a free, open-source Eurorack simulator for Mac/Windows/Linux.
Previously the preserve of wealthy and patient music makers tangled up with wires in giant blinking boxes, the joy of creating sounds on a modular synth is now accessible on your laptop via the free virtual modular synthesizer VCV Rack 2. Whether you are an experienced sound creator or curious music fan, modular synthesis with VCV Rack 2 offers virtually limitless audio creation tools and sonic experimentation.
Over the course of our three sessions we’ll learn how to build sounds from the ground up using modular synthesis patching, learn the basics of sound creation and manipulation, and build our own custom sound creation tools and performance set-ups, all inside VCV Rack.

PLEASE NOTE:
This is an online-only course with three meetings. Each session lasts about two hours. Individual sessions will be recorded and archived for later use, though this course is intended to be taken as a communal, real-time experience. Archived sessions are best used as a reference, not as replacement for live instruction.
